about

This is the first part of a tribute to Led Zeppelin's 'Black Dog'. We took a few very small excerpts of the melody of that song and used them as "cantus firmus" to create odd polyphonies. The lyrics are quite ironic and quote also Frank Zappa's "Big Leg Emma"...

lyrics

Black (and Green and Red)

Some old friends told me that women with big legs can make guys like me cry
(Guys like you they make cry)
Big leg Emma, she was my steady date, used to knock me out
(Big leg Emma, she knocked out)
No money, with my car she flew away
(Dreams of you through your head
She flew away with your car)

Can you keep away from me?
No I can't, can't stand still
(No you can't)

My green eyes are burning red,
Dreams of youth through my head
You don't need a car to love, my big legs are enough

(Spent my money, took my car, started telling her friends she's gonna be a star)
You don't need a car to love
(Eyes that shine burning red, dreams of youth all through my head)
My green eyes are burning red
(Hey hey baby when you walk that way watch your honey drip can't keep away)
Can you keep away from me?

Hey hey mama, said the way you move gonna make you sweat gonna make you groove.
